The Royal Saudi Navy is reportedly looking to expand,

Royal Saudi Arabian Navy will soon be force to recon with in Red Sea & Persian Gulf as it Expanding its capabilities after recent shopping. The list is getting longer for proposed/suggested 6 heavy FFGs & 8 large CORVs....

  • 4 Lockheed Martin MMSC ships
  • 8 Navantia Avante - 2200 corvettes (5 on active duty, 3 on order)
  • 6 Heavy FFGs (HDF 3800SA)
  • 8 Large Corvettes (I-class)
  • 8 SSKs
Complementing by 3 La Fayette class frigates, while RSAN in talks with several consortiums (EU/TK/SOK & Chinese) for additional 6 more heavy frigates & 8 large corvettes along SSKs.

According to the OP, this is a new sub, which would make it one of the Hangor class submarines for Pakistan.

A Thai Navy presentation on the S26T diesel submarine project. The lead boat's hull is 64% complete. The CHD620V16H6 diesel engine, developed by Henan Diesel Engine Industry Co., has exceeded 6,000 hours of testing as part of its domestic and international certification.
