At this point "6th gen" is more or less a "state of the art plane to be introduced in 2030s".

Boeing will attempt to seize this opportunity by lobbying the DoD to merge the F-47 and the F/A-XX programs.

There's a not insignificant chance that Boeing will succeed here, especially if they can secure buy-in from certain members of Congress, never mind President Trump.

J-36 has one dorsal inlet out of three — must be a fighter bomber.

Both inlets on FA-XX are dorsal — still a fighter because I say so.

There's a not insignificant chance that Boeing will succeed here, especially if they can secure buy-in from certain members of Congress, never mind President Trump.

Turning a cutting edge land based fighter into a carrier based one is probably going to be a complete disaster. It sounds just like what Boeing would do!
