And my position is that Trump's navigation of the US political scene is the result of his natural personality defects and stupidity which happen to mesh with the IQ level of the American mass rather than any "cunning." Quite frankly, competency in governance and political cunning are not that different and one cannot really be excellent at one and shit at the other. They're not worlds apart like engineering IQ and romantic IQ. Trump could easily overcome his lack of knowledge by simply listening to the top notch expert advice that is constantly offered to him by intitutions like the CDC. Instead, he fights against such benefits arguing that he knows better than anyone of anything and that makes him just plain stupid.I think I haven't been clear enough in explaining my position - apologies. I think we agree on most things in terms of material reality.
In short, this is my position:
In that context, to your points.
- competency in governance has no bearing on political success in the USA (save only in disaster situations);
- as such, Trump is adept at navigating the US political system, despite being incompetent at actually governing; and
- in that context Trump demonstrates a cunning that the rest of the US political establishment does not.
Agreed - he is incompetent at governing, and this is a good example of it. It's just that this particular situation the incompetence actually impacted on the day-to-day lives of people in a meaningful way, which impacted on his election. Think of all of the other shitshows that Trump did during his first term that didn't end up meaningfully impacting on his re-election chances.
Agreed again - but he played it in such a away that he fed his base red meat politically, and then pulled back early enough that they didn't actually feel that much pain in their day-to-day lives. It was incredibly stupid, but it was not damaging ultimately to him personally in a political way.
Not quite I think - China is playing chess, Trump is trying to flip the table, but he hasn't realised that China has bolted the table to the ground and not even full retard strength can flip it.
They discovered a gay gene in fruit flies that they can active and cause a congo-line sex party in all male enclosures. This gene has no orthologue in humans but we might have something undiscovered. The fact is that many homosexuals come from environmental factors that have absolutely no detectable affinity to homosexuality and that homosexual adoptive parents more often than not raise heterosexual children. I think this is multifactorial, meaning that part of it is genetic disposition and the other part is environmental influence. The environment cannot turn someone with no homosexual leaning into a homosexual (and vice versa with heterosexuals), however, it can influence those who have some inclinations to express them one direction or another. Genetic composition and enviromental stimulus come together to form the phenotype.The older I get, the more I have come to the belief that every gay person, whether male or female, is that way due to unresolved childhood psychological trauma. That is, if they were brought up in a different environment, then they would not be gay but straight. Am I bad for thinking like this?
