Any small western sanction push and Pakistan could quickly go down economically. They should lay low for another decade. This is not yet the time to play these games

Take a look at the list, the whole western asia and north africa are in there. China has also individually condemned Israeli attack on Iran in the UN. Wang Yi told Israeli FM in person that Israeli's attack on Iran is unacceptable. SCO as a wholes has condemed Israel. This statement is just another one from the muslim world. Not to downplay Pakistan's achievement in organizing this meeting, but Pakistan is very safe among these many countries. I also think that Pakistan as a SCO member is doing this on behalf of SCO to rally Muslim world. Pakistan isn't "stupid" as you think. I see this Pakistani move will boost SCO's credibility and attract more countries from west asia and north africa.

I think you are still used to the world order of western dominance where their threat means a lot. But with Saudi, UAE's money and oil, China's weapon and industry who give a fuck of what the west sanction? If the west doesn't provide balance and safty to Pakistan vs. India, why should Pakistan care about the west?

China can bail out Pakistan economically pretty easily, while militarily they are more formidable than Iran. For one, they have a functioning air force that bloodied Jai Hinds multiple times already, meanwhile Iran seemingly has no air force at all. Plus, they have the ultimate deterrent - nukes.

Iran had over 5 years since the arms embargo to drop. They did not improve their air defense or air force during that time. They had order su-35 from Russia which isn't exactly in a position to deliver. They could of went for a pakistan or chinese solution. If they didn't have the money, they certainly had the credit. As another poster noted in the other thread, Iran deserves to be regime change for such incompetency the past 5-10 years. From a China or Russian geopolitical perspective, it may not even matter as we see other middle east countries trying to eventually hedge west and east. At the end of the day, one much build up its industry and economy beefore being able to build a compitent military and independence.

Russia should be able to deliver all of them in one year if there is such an order. but Pilot training for 4G++ takes 4 years and Russians have done some work to reduce it to 2.5 years but i doubt it can apply to new buyers. Russia try to help Iran improve its products by buying military stuff from Iran. Russia saved this bankrupt system for too long. but Iran is too illogical to even understand basics. Iran lacks Soft Power of Arabian Arabs so it cannot talk about Place like Crimea using International Law when Russia want to break this law because it is European. This Crimea separation from Ukraine peacefully is Russian muslims biggest achievement and they literally built it to modern standard at quickest pace and they want to publicly associate with it.
All this info will not be in the the article but it is presented in unfriendly way showing shortcomings of Iran.

We are against war in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Palestine and Afghanistan. And we are also against [the military conflict] and the displacement of people in Ukraine. On the other hand, we recognize the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries within the framework of international law, and for this reason, despite the excellent relations between Tehran and Moscow, we did not recognize the separation of Crimea from Ukraine. We did not recognize the separation of Luhansk and Donetsk from Ukraine because we insist on our consistent principle in foreign policy.”

There is another reason that undoubtedly correlates with the statement of Minister H.A. Abdollahian, and specifically in the domestic political sphere - and this is separatism. The Islamic Republic of Iran is a multinational state. Of the 86 million residents, according to various estimates, 45-55 million people are Persians who live throughout the country; the number of Azerbaijanis is from 17 to 30 million people, they mainly inhabit the northwestern provinces of the IRI bordering Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia. True, Tehran is often called the largest Azerbaijani city in the world. The Kurds (about 8 million people) live in the west of Iran, in the provinces bordering Iraq (Iraqi Kurdistan). The Baloch (about 3 million people) inhabit the southeastern part of the country, the provinces of Balochistan and Sistan, located on the border with Afghanistan and Pakistan; the Baloch profess the Sunni version of Islam. Arabs (more than 2 million people) live in the south and inhabit mainly the provinces of Khuzestan, Fars and the Persian Gulf coast, the provinces of Bushehr and Hormozgan; they also profess Sunni Islam. Representatives of other national minorities also live in the IRI.

Pakistan alone isn't in a position to do so, but who says Pakistan is acting alone?

Pakistan has practical training with Chinese doctrine, uses Chinese weapons, flies Chinese platforms that can link with Chinese ISR network, that are bought partially using Saudi's money. If both China and Saudi Arabia agreed to intervene, doing so through Pakistan would make the most sense.

To be honest, even if Iran has S-400, HQ-9 or even J-10, what difference does it make when Mossad could destroy them on the ground with Spike ATGM? The fact that Russia readily provide S-400 systems to India, yet is hesitant to deliver even S-300 to Iran tell volumes. Recall that in 2024, the 3 S-300 Russia did provide to Iran were destroyed by Israel after internal software attack rendered them useless.

Also, hasn't Iran shown a multitude of AD systems on parades? What happened to their Raad, Bavar 373, Arman, Sayyad, Zubin air defense systems? It's evident that while Russia/China were hesitant with providing Iran with AD systems, they were quite open with providing Iran with underlying technological know-how.
