India is giving so much credit to France and their Raf planes. They brag it as if it is god tier plane that cannot be shot down

Raf is nothing but a 4th gen plane. In this world, many countries operate them. nothing special
Its also funny that a so called proud country like India is boasting about it so much.

Hey I'm unable to make my own weapons so I'm gonna boast about this overpriced one sold to me by France as well as many other countries! France could stop selling these to me if they suddenly have trouble or don't like me? Never came to my mind!

Sorry to bring up old topics.
But I've got question about the PL-15E's that India recovered during the border skirmish May 7th.

I saw pictures of the intact missile tube that India recovered, missing its warhead.

I want to ask, do PL-15 missiles set to self-destruct upon missing its targets?

If its warhead exploded, why didn't that also destroy the tube as well?

I don't think most AAM's have self-destruct mechanisms?. It usually means additional weight which is not something you really want in a missile unless its needed

One Chinese military analyst speculates that this is the reason why Godi media have gone completely insane even by their own standards after the Rafale shootdowns — they played up Rafale to be a J-20 killer only for it to be swatted down like a fly at 100+ KM by a J-10C. The contrast in expectations literally drove them crazy…

Huh, then it probably almost hit India's jets. If the warhead exploded, then I have no idea how the tube is still intact considering the blast, unless I'm misunderstanding something.

I guess whether there is a missile left depends on a number of factors like the type of warhead the missile has, whether it was a direct impact on the target or it was the proximity fuse, angle, whether the targets explodes and takes the rest of the missile with it, etc.

The engine of a missile surviving is not that odd of an ocurrence, though. Plenty of examples in Ukraine, and not only for AAM(or land based derivatives) but also for the HARMs, SCALP, Kinzhal, etc.

I think we even had picture of a the remains of the engine of an SM-3 a few days ago around Israel/Iran(can't remember)

The missile already has an explosive charge. A self-destruct mechanism is just some software.
