Here Trump is making all the narcissists feel good about themselves with the limitless double standards and hypocrisy; they feel vindicated, validated - and pointing out said double standards and hypocrisy of "it's ok when we do it" is not even going to register as something bad or shameful to a great many people in the West, it might not even register with them at all as if it was said in a foriegn language or an echo they cant quite make out (you cant reason with them)View attachment 154275

Iran chose neither and relied on half-measures, and this is the end result. You cannot threaten to build nukes and not go through with it, because your adversaries will strike before you do if you give them that opportunity. Threatening to build nukes is not a deterrent, actually having them is. On the other hand, if you’re afraid of the economic sanctions going down this path entails, Iran could have also fully embraced the West and tried to get sanctions removed. But in both cases, Iran only took half-steps, and they ended up getting the worst of both worlds. Their approachment with the west led to the JCPOA, pausing their nuclear program just for Trump to tear it up and for Biden to forget about it. They basically gave nuclear concessions for nothing. Similarly, their steps toward nuclearization clearly weren’t serious and were more towards being a “deterrent”, but what the regime doesnt understand is threatening to build nukes is not a deterrent by itself, only when you actually do have them can you pose a credible challenge to Israel. In fact, their half steps but not full nuclearization policy likely precipitated this Israeli aggression. The only thing stopping it before was the Iranian proxies and missile threat. And now that Israel has severely weakened the ballistic missile threat that Iran posed as well and removed its proxies, Iran has no cards left to play. They hesitated, they wavered, they tried to have both worlds and they were punished for it. This is the end result. Indecision and weakness will always be punished by your adversaries.

For many years threatening to build nukes but not actually doing it kept Iran safe. With a different strategy, how do you know that they wouldn't have been attacked 20 years ago?

Let's not forget, the enriched uranium isn't going anywhere. For now, they'll have to wait and survive. But if UN sanctions get reimposed and Iran continues to be attacked, then what's the point of not taking the final step?

Of course the Israelis might then just do a nuclear first strike and the west and certain people on this forum would blame the victims for getting nuked

no photos, no videos, no evidence to support this claim. just some emotional guy on twitter (probably Iranian) who is making these claims. and you can tell it's just his emotions that make him make BS claims from how he refers to Israel as "the Zionist regime" rather than just call it by it's name. Iran has always been all talk no action.

It is very much NOT in the interest of a nuclear state for there to be more nuclear states. China was not in favor of North Korea acquiring nuclear weapons, but was not positioned to act against it in the late 90s and early 2000s.
