Pardon? Does current Russia have any tech worth "steal" by China?

I can understand China develops spies in Europe & US, but in Russia ?!

Some Chinese entities — operating with state support — are known for offering talented and accomplished foreign scientists, researchers and engineers generous incentives to move to China to continue their work.

Many countries, not just Russia, view such recruitment efforts as potential national security threats, even if the target for recruitment has never been privy to anything classified, so long as they worked on one thing or another that their gov't considers sensitive, which obviously gets interpretive.

However, it gets even more complicated if the target for recruitment has worked for the Russian MIC in a classified capacity, but isn't so bound to the Russian state as to be completely prohibited from pursuing foreign employment under extant Russian export controls.

Inevitably it gets pretty blurry as to whether the Chinese state is actually trying to steal Russian secrets, or if a Chinese company or university is just trying to poach talent.

Regardless, even though such activities aren't actually going to cause any of the officers of the FSB's counterintelligence department to lose any sleep, it's still something they can harp on when trying to justify why their department need and deserve a bigger budget.

Apparently all of ONE FC champions that come from the Philippines are from Team Lakay which is a Sanda focused gym. Its amazing how few people know of it. Even in China more people know about stuff like wing chun or whatever than Sanda which is ashame because they have a strong opportunity to promote an art that actually works.
Filipino's are natural born fighters if train properly, boxing is on the downturn since Pacquiao retired, Taekwando is a sport for the rich and Karate is seen as a demonstration sport just like wushu. The problem why Sanda is not that popular during my time is the lack of good coaches and teachers, I had been train the traditional way like horse stand and constant repetition without teaching the basic technique. Fortunately I had a relative from China who is a Sanda practitioner who took pity on me as I always came home with bruises all around my body.

Starting 1991 when Wushu become an international sport did China had been sending excellent coaches, it also help that Jet Li with his Once upon a Time in China had become a blockbuster hit. That movie inspired a new generation of Sanda practitioner that are excelling in international Sanda tournaments today.

The Philippines won five gold medals in Sanda (kickboxing) at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, contributing to a total of seven gold medals for the Philippine wushu team. The sanda squad achieved this success by securing victories in the women's 48kg event (Divine Wally), and the men's 48kg, 52kg, 56kg, and 65kg events (Jessie Aligaga, Arnel Mandal, Francisco Solis, and Clemente Tabugara Jr.,

Speaking of Sanda, with Wang Cong winning her last fight, China now has 4 ranked UFC fighters and of course 1 UFC champion. This unironically makes it one of the strongest Asian MMA countries at the highest levels right now despite being quite late to the game and not having a warrior culture. Something that should be noted is every fighter now or before that became ranked out of China has a Sanda base.

Not too long ago there was some narrative that China was somehow against MMA coz it exposed their fairy tale Kung Fu or whatever. Yet Sanda which is literally state supported has pulled through and there is even a UFC performance institute in Shanghai. Someone like Zhang Weili is a huge star in China. This is a demonstration of how pure hard results can crush narratives. But more importantly it shows how China can come across something new and embrace it contrary to what people think.

While there is a long way to go before competing with the big boys like Russia, Brazil and of coz the US, it shows it can be done and its not impossible. One thing that is lacking though is the coaching and gyms in China are still quite bad. I believe all the ranked fighters as well as the champ train overseas.
That is why Sanda is adopted by the PLA and police force instead of any of the traditional Chinese martial arts. It is a much more practical and grounded martial art. Sanda is derived from a combination traditional Chinese martial arts, so it still is a Chinese cultural heritage. Seeing it work in UFC is further vindication that the Chinese have successfully modernized their martial arts for modern circumstances. And that the PLA knows what they're doing.

Same can't be said about many nations. Western military martial arts are heavy with Asian influence. Particularly from Japan and South East Asia. It works, but they cannot claim that it is their cultural heritage.

Sanda technically is traditional Chinese martial arts. It just integrates moves practical for combat and eschews 套路.

A funny story bro, my opponent hit me while I'm doing my horse stand warm up and run, I told myself, I know kung fu BUT why do I feel cheated and impotent. ;)
