Pardon? Does current Russia have any tech worth "steal" by China?
I can understand China develops spies in Europe & US, but in Russia ?!
Filipino's are natural born fighters if train properly, boxing is on the downturn since Pacquiao retired, Taekwando is a sport for the rich and Karate is seen as a demonstration sport just like wushu. The problem why Sanda is not that popular during my time is the lack of good coaches and teachers, I had been train the traditional way like horse stand and constant repetition without teaching the basic technique. Fortunately I had a relative from China who is a Sanda practitioner who took pity on me as I always came home with bruises all around my body.Apparently all of ONE FC champions that come from the Philippines are from Team Lakay which is a Sanda focused gym. Its amazing how few people know of it. Even in China more people know about stuff like wing chun or whatever than Sanda which is ashame because they have a strong opportunity to promote an art that actually works.
Sorry but if the jaihinds didn't mention/smear/attack/demean/disparage/insult/slander China at EVERY opportunity/everday then we wouldn't mention india at all but these idiots do so and we can't help but "return fire"-Sorry.You guys are giving Indian wayyy more attention than it deserves.
That is why Sanda is adopted by the PLA and police force instead of any of the traditional Chinese martial arts. It is a much more practical and grounded martial art. Sanda is derived from a combination traditional Chinese martial arts, so it still is a Chinese cultural heritage. Seeing it work in UFC is further vindication that the Chinese have successfully modernized their martial arts for modern circumstances. And that the PLA knows what they're doing.
Speaking of Sanda, with Wang Cong winning her last fight, China now has 4 ranked UFC fighters and of course 1 UFC champion. This unironically makes it one of the strongest Asian MMA countries at the highest levels right now despite being quite late to the game and not having a warrior culture. Something that should be noted is every fighter now or before that became ranked out of China has a Sanda base.
Not too long ago there was some narrative that China was somehow against MMA coz it exposed their fairy tale Kung Fu or whatever. Yet Sanda which is literally state supported has pulled through and there is even a UFC performance institute in Shanghai. Someone like Zhang Weili is a huge star in China. This is a demonstration of how pure hard results can crush narratives. But more importantly it shows how China can come across something new and embrace it contrary to what people think.
While there is a long way to go before competing with the big boys like Russia, Brazil and of coz the US, it shows it can be done and its not impossible. One thing that is lacking though is the coaching and gyms in China are still quite bad. I believe all the ranked fighters as well as the champ train overseas.

Same can't be said about many nations. Western military martial arts are heavy with Asian influence. Particularly from Japan and South East Asia. It works, but they cannot claim that it is their cultural heritage.
A funny story bro, my opponent hit me while I'm doing my horse stand warm up and run, I told myself, I know kung fu BUT why do I feel cheated and impotent. That is why Sanda is adopted by the PLA and police force instead of any of the traditional Chinese martial arts. Yes,rather like distilling traditional Chinese martial arts into a potent form and taking only what is need/effective for actual fighting(no fancy, flowery crap) and is needed to train soldiers in an effective hand to hand fighting in a relatively short time.Akin to Russian Sambo and Systema ??Sanda technically is traditional Chinese martial arts. It just integrates moves practical for combat and eschews 套路.
