Firstly I doubt that Taiwan would actually buy Indian weapons unless they absolutely had no other choice. You have seen how little credibility Indian media and users have online after what happened with Pakistan. So above is most likely bs and when proven, they will just pretend the never said it.
As for US weapons, USA simply does not trust Taiwan to sell them the best stuff. Taiwan is notChina to them. Like they are Chinese, follow their rules, act like them but they are notChina if you get what I mean. And therefore the good stuff isn't being given to them in case some notChina military people decided they are in fact China.
Well, that reminds me of how the DPP tried to gaslight the entire Taiwan population into believing that they are of Japanese origin to distant themselves away from China.
