IMHO it almost certainly can(it is not that heavy), the question is whether it's worth flight testing campaign.

At least one active J-10 production line is still present at Chengdu AC, discrediting previous rumors that all the J-10 production lines have been moved to Guiyang AC. Posted by @foolsball on Twitter.
Kinda hoping that once all the outstanding J-10 orders have been fulfilled at Chengdu AC, this production line would be converted to become the first to produce J-36...
