What would happen if South Korea or Japan goes for Nukes? Would China simply allow it without a kinetic response. Or would they bomb the hell out of these countries just like how Israel prevents any of its hostile neighbour's from having nukes.

Apparently it's extremely popular in south korea with over 80% of the population want to have their own nukes.

If they really want it, sanctions will simply not be enough. Yes, US dominance prevents these countries from having nukes but US is on the path towards severe decline. Sooner or later as China gets stronger, Korea or Japan will feel the need to have nukes as a guarantee.

You know in this thread a while back we discussed why India shouldn't be given a permanent UN security council seat. A lot of it was arguing over might is right etc.

I think given all that has happened lately, India has shown that it is simply not qualified to have that position.

It hasn't even reached second world country and has already pissed off almost all it's neighbors. Depending on how things go, we might be seeing nukes fly between it and Pakistan. It has shown that it cannot be trusted to behave responsibly and thus lacks credibility and accountability. Religion seems to be more important over rationality. And think about it, the country refuses to take care of most of its own population first who live undignified lives yet wants to go around claiming it's a superpower just to fufil it's ego. Would you feel comfortable having someone like that being able to veto whatever you bring up to the UN?

The 5 members are no angels. But they have at least shown despite their strength, they can at least hold back so we haven't nuked anyone for decades. I feel the only reason India hasn't done that much to the world is because they just don't have the means yet. Imagine they did. A pretty chilling thought.

Ok, my best guess on how the next couple weeks will go is: first Indian attempt at punitive airstrikes against a capable, underestimated PAF on high alert -> ends in surprise humiliation & significant losses of the IAF -> critical blow to collective jai hind ego means Modi regime faces choice between further escalation or political suicide -> next rung climbed on escalation ladder in some form, eg

I think they might go for an Iran style drone+Cruise/Ballistic missile barrage against Pakistan. Much less risk of getting shot down and having their pilots killed or captured. Pakistan does have good Air Force but their Air Defense network is weak.

That's an attack by a country without an air force, the dungfueled Indian ego is unlikely to allow them to choose options that don't utilize their prestige project air force, like it was just for show or something. And the nature of how close their airspaces are means shootdowns are likely, as we saw in 2019.

To keep things short their presence annoys people and they refuse to have any self awareness so in the end nothing will be fixed.

I said I rather not bring up stuff involving them in this thread since its honestly just a waste of time and energy at this point.

And yet once again they are the main topic of today even though we never asked. And this time its kinda hard to ignore given that this could lead to nukes flying around. People who have a religious mindset who think they are doing the right thing regardless of consequence are what you have to look out for.

I unironically feel more worried than when Russia was talking about waving Nukes because I believe Russia has much better self control despite what people think of them.

Because 1) Musk allows racists to flourish under the guise of free speech and 2) Jai Hinds kinda ask to get hated by scamming/stealing high paying jobs through cronyism/and making crude comments about white women’s bobs and vagene.

The device under construction is named BEST. After EAST, which is another experimental reactor also located in Hefei and broke lots of world records recently, the new device is expected to demonstrate electricity generation from fusion for the first time.
