That's insane. Why would China benefit from risking nuclear war over Iran, when they have been lukewarm towards China?
Many of these 3rd world countries have an obsession with being accepted by the West. If Iran had gone "full North Korea" and accepted lower living standards but a nuclear weapon years ago, then they wouldn't be in their precarious position right now. But they kept telling the West they wanted normalisation in exchange for de-nuclearisation. It's a slave mentality.
Who cares if they love China or just pretending to love
Defensive nuclear umbrella would be so that they don't actually end up building a nuclear weapon while also giving them confidence to fight off US without being scared that they would get nuked if they managed to sink a US carrier

That is a good quote about the complete package of stupidity and arrogance, although I never saw a single episode of Babylon 5.

Here's the thing, Professor Wang, you tried to grand stand on the US claiming to be a "beacon of democracy," but the reality is that Trump and his allies, not even once, identified with that statement. Trump does not care about democracy, in fact he hates liberalism, and he is dismantling the liberal international order. There is no word for "democracy" in "Make America Great Again"; Trump is a nationalist, quite possibly a fascist, and almost certainly authoritarian, and it's up to you to figure that out past the American brain washing.

Why is this allowed again? We should find a way to make sure they cannot change the goal posts.
Btw I noticed westoids seem to talk a lot of crap about rural areas in China. If anything by going though youtube videos of them, the rural areas in China are much more comfy coz ppl there are more laid back and chilled compared to those hustle and bustle pricks in Shanghai and Beijing. There's a reason a lot of vloggers are venturing out to those areas instead of the usual entry level cities.

America is sleepwalking into something they don't understand because they have so much faith their "institutions" will magically save them. It is a young country that has never experienced the worst excesses of dictatorship.
Are you seriously comparing decades of comprehensive war preparation with a hastily organized airstrike planned in just a few months?
