There is a Weibo user, who claimed that there are at least 4 types of technology demonstrators which has flown before 2019 in China according to a board of "未来飞行器协同创新中心" of Northwestern Polytechnic University.

Discussion moved here to avoid derailing the original NGAD & F/A-XX thread. Not exactly breaking news per se, but I find this thread to be the next best thread to continue the discussion (since the best one doesn't exist).
Sometime earlier yesterday, I stumbled upon some tweets on Twitter which I do find to be really helpful and useful when describing/explaining the relationship between Chengdu AC's J-36 and Shenyang AC's J-XDS. Figured that it'd be better to just do a compilation for ease of future referencing without having to write essays every single time.
The compilation of said tweets is a combination of explanations and replies to someone else's comments.
