Zelensky sure now get the useless puppet treatment. Should study the case of Ngo Dinh Diem. Most dangerous for his life and his family is from CIA. Which means no Boeing plane, no US embassy, no close circle general or colonel.
With the end of Russia US hostility, China should keep the door of EU open, in case Russia move westward. Although Russia is the prefered ally and has no reason to betray, I have seen stranger things by Europeans. The possibility of a reverse Nixon was always pure fantasy, especially with how much Russia had to integrate with the Chinese economy for the past few years its been isolated from the EU and probably will continue to be so in the future. However, depending on how far this normalization goes, I personally don't think it'll go very far, but if it does come to pass that the US and Russia fully normalize all economic, diplomatic, and cultural relations, then I could definately see a future where Russia will pivot away from its "no-limits partnership" with China and be more open to playing the two powers against eachother. One sticking point nobody can deny is that China has been fully taking advantage of the war to gobble up real estate in Central Asia, real estate Russia will probably want back since it still sees Central Asia as its backyard.
Like I said, everything is predicated on how far the normalization goes, but this is why even if just on principle of being anti-West some here think China should tell the EU to shove it, it is imperative China take advantage of the trans-Atlantic rift to bolster its ties with the bloc. The age of ideaologically based competition is over and the world has fully swung back to the good ol-fashioned 19th Century age of realpolitk and alliances among strange bedfellows. China should thus continue doing what it has always done best and make sure every party has some incentive to continue working with it.
Goes to show too, how even if some were annoyed Chinese foreign policy was always defined by non-aligned mercantalism rather than actually promoting an ideaology, the leadership was really once again ahead of the curve in terms of its diplomatic strategy on the global stage.
I like mine better.

Unless you’re the Saudies, Isreal, UAE etc. The number one supporter of dictators and human rights abusers has always been USA.I am shocked. Is Trump crazy? He has turned into a real dictators-loving politician. USA should maintain weapons flow to Ukraine until after Russia withdraws. Giving into dictators and imperialists has never been an American thing. I hope Mr Trump and his team know something that we don't know and USA will never make concessions to Russia.
I hold a significant portion in US treasuries as part of safety for passive income. I used to think US treasuries would be safe and if they defaulted the world will end anyway.
But now I can really see them defaulting and the world
How was she recruited? (I remember a Shanghai marathon protestors seem to be indoctrinated by a US based Chinese name woman who use translation jobs as way, cant remember the twtr name of that woman) curious abt her background story....

One of the top posts there, smh.
Some Chinese netizens dug some prophetic passages from chancellor of West Germany Helmut Schmidt's book Men and Powers: A Political Retrospective which contained his recollections of conversation with Chairman Mao.

Since people are making a joke of this, I would disagree with that thinking. Look at the last line of the first paragraph of the second page. The word is listless which means tired or without energy. And this is true for that time. People talk about ww2 but it's actually ww1 why western Europe not eastern Europe is tired. While ww2 claimed much more lives, it was extremely horrific for civilians but not for soldiers compared to ww1. WW1 was infinitely worse for soldiers considering the tales of verdun. To drive my point further Petain surrendered by thinking he could stop Germany by surrendering and thinking that they would spare the French. Of course we know that he was wrong. But the battles fought in ww1 were honestly very gruesome. This was also complicated by a incompetent leadership which brought wrath of rank and file soldiers. The survivors of that war in France did not really adjust to society and were broken men. Verdun and Somme pretty much demoralised various countries and of course when truth about ww2 came out it obviously demoralised Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Netherlands as they were what we call as the Bad Guys. People scoff at AI regulation in Europe but the reason is well known, the people in Europe dislike or hate what they feel might bring them back to those times. Some Chinese netizens dug some prophetic passages from chancellor of West Germany Helmut Schmidt's book Men and Powers: A Political Retrospective which contained his recollections of conversation with Chairman Mao.
