C295 is an aircraft designed and built by CASA in Spain. Part of Airbus consortium. It is a good aircraft.

This is a major failure for the Russian aerospace industry which has persistently failed to deliver a similar aircraft. First it was the failure of the An-140T program developed together with Ukraine. Scrapped after the Russian Annexation of Crimea and then it was the utter failure of the Russians by themselves with the Il-112 program. Which caused the death of the test pilots.

If you are paying attention to Ukraine conflict this type of aircraft are becoming useless for Russia. It is always North to South in the news but not South to North.
They need An-124/IL-476 for high loaded performance in hot weather for Mideast connectivity to nearly all factories of Russia and bases. and to support such scale of distributed air defense network with multiple launch points for drones and attack choppers they need helicopters. Its 4 external fuel tanks per Ka-52/Mi-28NM. To put full operation theatre near combat zone they going with Mi-26. this is the price for gaining Soft Power.

It's sort of a misconception as it was sold in Britain under the name laudanum. They discouraged smoking it, but afaik such bans didn't stop semi legal opium dens from existing anyways. It was the overall better/more optimistic social outlook in Britain that prevented widespread addiction.

Kinda like how opiates is not an issue in China while they are in US, sure a part of it can be attributed to healthcare guideline stringency and better internal security, but the vast majority of difference is more likely caused by the fact there's a lot more impoverished/lower class with no way out in US than there are in China.

Do you think because China is very serious about opiates and death penalty for drug trafficking ? While in the USA, the laws are very lenient and so many and systemic corrupt officials in regard to drug trafficking

C295 is 100% designed by CASA in late 90s and was based on CN235 which was joint venture with Nurtanio (Indonesia). C295 is very small aircraft and I don't know why there is a big buzz about it by India ... India will simply just assembling it, without any design inputs

The US allowing Russia to circumvent sanctions to keep oil prices down because it would be a serious blow to Europe if prices go up from less oil on the market. Meanwhile the hypocrite US is still buying Russian enriched uranium because the US can't produce enough for itself.

Singapore would be a prime choice for its "neutrality". Otherwise, Shanghai or Guangzhou would be good options too.

US vassals wouldn't accept China. Singapore seems vulnerable to US. Somewhere inland and totally neutral: Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan look like good candidates.
