Forget about soldiers able to vote for their general. The litmus test would and should have been about HOW CORPORATIONS ARE GOVERNED AND LED.In the future probably kids will be reading history textbooks and will say: can you believe people actually thought democracy was a good system when even the original Greeks hated it (Socrates literally died to prove how stupid it was)?
Something you have to ask yourself why you were born in this particular period. For the last 200 to 300 years, our ancestors had to keep hearing how great the west was and how they figured it all out already. Only now we are seeing past the facade and how it all comes crashing down.
If democracy really was end of history, why don't we let soldiers vote their general? That's when the stakes are highest. War is another beast on how much your decisions weigh.
I have never once heard that successful companies should have been led by janitors and plumbers.
