Russian carrier on fire now? What a friggin disaster for the Black Sea Fleet.
The Russians have been nothing but disappointingly incompetent the past 2 years. Let this conflict be a warning to anyone who thinks they can be relied upon to provide a buffer for China's northern border, or provide military support in an armed reunification scenario.

That's in India is it not?
August 16, Nantong, Jiangsu. The former Soviet aircraft carrier "Minsk", which had been docked in the Suxitong Park for several years, caught fire during the dismantling and renovation process. Official reports said no casualties so far
These photos are good bait though, can definitely get foreigners real excited.

My point is that Russia cannot be used as an example of a strong military. Under no circumstance should the PLA seek to adopt their doctrine nor should they be counted upon to pull their weight in a military alliance.
And the alternatives are who exactly? It is also easy to talk when China hasn't been in a proper war for almost half a century.

The US needs a poll telling them they've won the semiconductor war. Maybe China is suppose to stop developing semiconductors because it ain't winning. How did China ever catch-up to the US because it was 1st place in a lot more things than a quarter of a century ago with China way behind. According to them China should be still at the bottom if that's how the world works.

That's kind of why I bemoan the fact that China does not explore ties beyond business relationships. The US has a network of allies/vassals because they are willing to overtly and covertly exert pressure on other nations and factions. In this battle, China is explicitly handicapping itself.

See Russia, the object of my ridicule. The only edges they hold over China are nuclear arsenal and submarine technology yet they are significantly more assertive in foreign policy. Where do they get their big dick energy from?
