U.S. inflation is 2022 was 8%, 2023 was 4.1%. If I am right, that will lead to 1.978 trillion increase in real GDP of 2022 and 1.5456 trillion in 2023 (only counting inflation from 2022 to 2023). The real GDP increase would be somewhere below 3.52 trillion if 2023 increase counts 2022 inflation as well since we are talking about two year increase here. It is almost half of 6 trillion.

Those CPI numbers you are using are the official inflation numbers. There are other unofficial numbers such as the John William's shadow stats which are recalculated inflation numbers to rebase numbers whenever they change the methodology of calculating the CPI to keep all data points consistent throughout time. As you can see, the "real" inflation is roughly 4% higher than the headline figure. Which means that the real US economy actually contracted in recent years.

By all traditional definitions, yes. China's gdp is increasing at an even faster rate and they already had a higher starting base since the mid 2010s.

What people don't always take into account is that while China has had a larger economy for 10 years now, US has enjoyed the benefits of being the largest economy for a longer time than China has, even if tech level was relatively lower back when US was no1.

So it isn't entirely clear cut that China is more built up than US, even if China has the larger economy today. Especially in military matters, the US has a much larger standing force.

Imho if you give it 5-10 more years, China's advantage will become very clear.

The comment section of that article that have these people continuous claiming that the Palestinians are in the wrong for attacking on the 7th of October when it is the Israelis that be been committing a 75 year long genocide campaign against the Palestinians with the help of the US really makes my blood boil, they seem to ignore the truth in favor of feeling good about themselves.
