TLDR: They claim the issue is due to logic error in named pipe execution. I can't verify unless I can get my hands on the stacktrace.

Alas, it seems the outage isn't because of a NULL->xyz mistake. So I can't claim to be a prophet.

I think someone on TikTok ran the update through the decompiler and did an analysis on why it failed.

In Chinese culture, it is a severe offence to mock, joke or tease a senior person regardless the person's social status or circumstance, regardless one‘s motivation even a good one. One can only joke with person they know well. If you make a joke even with good intention to a stranger, you may get into trouble. One can not call a senior by given name alone either.

You would have realized that if you see how Chinese medias treat Biden and Trump etc compared to their treatment in the U.S..

But that was scuppered by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, or CFIUS, the government’s investment watchdog, which last year forced Kunlun to sell Grindr. Kunlun said it signed a “national security agreement” with CFIUS to dispose of the unit by the end of June 2020.

CFIUS had feared that the Chinese government could use personal data given to the app by its 3.3 million users to blackmail U.S. citizens — for example, over their sexual orientation or HIV status. Grindr’s users may include U.S. officials and military personnel. In response, Kunlun had promised it would not transfer any sensitive data from Grindr to China and that it would stop its operations there, keeping its headquarters in the U.S.

Haven’t they been doing that for the last century to anyone that cannot say no. Now they are in danger of the very same thing happening to them and given past break ins, this is bound to hurt, they complain like chickens, well in this situation, all I can say is, ‘have a happy break in, I hope you lose your ill gotten assets and may you hopefully learn to respect your neighbours more’ but we all know they won’t do that, honest
