Funny how a few decades of Cold War victory mindset has completely busted up their capabilities. Didn’t think that they would fall this fast but I guess sooner or later when the bluff is called, we may finally see an actual contest between Russia and China on one side and the USA on the other, I mean seriously, how in the hell did they make enemies of them both at the same time is beyond me. Assimilation happened after untold suffering directly and indirectly caused by infighting weakening the state. When unified, you had campaigns like the ones that broke Xiongnu and Mongol backs and eliminated them as threats permanently. The end result was ultimately the same, except one route had Chinese people suffering for no reason.
