I like that China is gracious enough to share the glory of building humanity's first lunar colony; this is the very difference between the Chinese worldview and the feudal nature of anglo american hegemony. As far as I know orthodox jews are pro war but ultra orthodox are anti war, anti zionist nad they even dont live in Israel. Maybe there are some groups in the middle that are pro Israel but antiwar. I get lost with all their subgroups tbh
Depends on which branch of the orthodoxy. Hasidic orthodox jews oppose Israel as they view the current state as a human invention that goes against the teachings as only god can be the one to stablish a jewish state, not men. They are usually the ones you see getting beat by israeli police and settlers.
Point is that tariffs will only protect EU and US, but they will not avoid their (ours since I am european) automakers being smashed in international markets.
Ford make more of it business in US but GM do most of its business in Asia.
Same for Germany. German cars are simply non competitive anymore against China, and their future is to loose their export potential.
Protectionism could work for the US and EU if enough money would be invest in the sector to allow it to compete with China. But EU and US prefer to burn hundred thousand millions in Ukraine for the benefit of some shareholders of Raytheon.
German industry also is doomed.
Facing the Chinese innovation would be hard even in best circumstances, taking into consideration the gargantuan advantage of China in education, STEM graduates and financial system.
Facing china while loosing access to Russian natural resources and while burning money in Ukraine is simply impossible.
In this conditions German industry could not compete even with Russian industry in the medium term, much less Chinese. Their destiny is being erased from the list of relevant countries.
It simply does not matter how many tariffs or sanctions EU or US impose on China, the zeitgeist is against them. China has a far better system, more manpower, better education , better access to natural resources.
China will reserve the right to answer in the way they consider of course, but they dont need to impose tariffs since their products are simply more competitive.

I take a jaundiced view of such groups who say they are anti war but dont do more than mouth platitudes; it's like europeans and their descendants clutching their pearls over the genocide of native americans and the abuses they did but they're still living as beneficiaries of those atrocities. Imagine back during the age of imperialism where western missionaries went to asia and africa and said they were against things like the belgian genocide but all the same, lived off the treasures stolen from the natives and exploited the natives for their own ends.
Similarly, these jewish groups who say they are against the genocide because it goes against religious doctrine will have no problem with the sacrifice of those red heifers let alone the murder and mutilation of Palestinean children, because they are still the beneficiaries of the end result of those actions: they get to live off the palestinean land and get their messiah (assuming that heifer prophecy is true).
