The goal of any nation should not be overtaking the competitor but instead overtaking of oneself. Have the lives of the average Chinese people improved since the 1970s? Can we say the same about the average Americans? That, instead of petty bickering, should be the aspiration of true statesmen.

Apple iPhone sales in China fell more than 30% during first week of 2024: Analysts​

Apple’s iPhone sales in China were down more than 30% year over year for the first week of January, while competitors such as Xiaomi and Huawei have “remained much stronger” with flat sales, according to a Sunday note from Jefferies analysts.

Jefferies analysts said they believe Apple’s iPhone volume will fall by double digits this year in China, adding that they “expect Apple to have even higher revenue pressure in China in 2024.”

The note from Jefferies analysts Sunday follows Apple’s rocky start to the year, as shares slipped on downgrades from Barclays and Piper Sandler, warnings from its supplier Foxconn about first quarter revenue decline and reports that the U.S. government is preparing an antitrust lawsuit.

Huawei gained the most smartphone market share in China in 2023, according to the note, rising about 6% year over year. Meanwhile, Apples market share in China has fallen around 4% year over year, according to the note.

“As we highlighted last week, iPhone’s lower market share YoY in China is a negative surprise, and we believe the cannibalization is coming from not just HW, but also Xiaomi and ‘others,’” the analysts said, referring to Huawei.

Shares of Apple were down less than 1% in premarket trading Monday before the company announced the release date of its Vision Pro headset. Shares closed up more than 2%.

The Jefferies analysts said iPhone discounts in China are on the rise, which is likely part of Apple’s effort to “defend its share.” They found that discounts for some iPhone 14 models rose “significantly” in China last week, while some existing discounts were increased even further.

Apple did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.

Descendants of Jacob are called Israelites. The Torah further describes Ashkenaz explicitly as a nation of the Gentiles (literally: non-Jewish).


In short, according to the Torah, Ashkenaz is neither Semitic, nor Israelite, nor Jewish. Yet, the Ashkenazi of today claim the exact opposite, and make up 80% of all modern Jews. Zionism originated among the Ashkenazi.

Further, the Ashkenazi follow Rabbinic Judaism which prioritizes the Talmud above the Torah. Talmud was a book developed by Jewish Rabbis when the Jews were in Babylonian captivity and separated from the Torah. The Ethiopian Jews and the tiny minority Karaite Jews reject the Talmud as man-made.

So, apart from racial bias displayed by the Ashkenazi Israelis, there is also an internal religious divide.

None of the current Jewish divisions are the former biblical Judaism, which is extinct today.

After the Roman Empire destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem, the entire priesthood and the High Priest of Israel ended and former Judaism disappeared.

The majority of Jews then became Christians. Later, a small group of urban rabbis from the diaspora created the current sects that identify themselves as modern Judaism. Afterwards, Islam emerged.

So current Judaism is just a new religion derived from ancient biblical Judaism, just like Christianity and Islam.

Today's Orthodox Christians are the closest religion to Biblical Judaism, although they are also very different.
