US can still do the software, research and high end components but leave the rest to Mexico in green energy. I think Mexico can built millions of EVs for export if spending is moved in that direction.

True. There are countries in Africa I'd rather live in than India like Botswana, Cape Verde, Seychelles, etc.Africa and India are indeed quite close (neck to neck even), in most national developmental metrics India is way closer in development to Africa, than to China.
(Many countries in Africa are more developed than India, but there are also richer provinces in India).
Anyway, both the African continent and the Indian sub-continent have close population sizes and are way more fitting for comparison than China and India.
The biggest difference between the two is geography, and due to that India managed to emerge as a single nation, whereas Africa has many different nations.

I'd also choose Africa in a heartbeat. Africa is simply gorgeous and unlike India, Africa is sparsely populated. The countries of Africa have so much potential, and you guys have so much to look forward to and be proud of as your continent rises. Africa, like every other place in the world including China, has many problems but I know many brilliant people from Africa and I'm confident that they and people like you will overcome them.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I know many people from Africa and India and based on my interactions with these people, I genuinely believe that Africa will have a brighter future than India. There are many students from Nigeria and Ghana at my university, and their work ethic reminds me so much of the Chinese work ethic.
