No one should be surprised that Biden's counter to China's BRI he dreamt up at the G20 stretching from India through the Middle East to Europe was wholly dependent on BRI in linking everything in between. Before China entered Africa, the West saw Africa as just a place that received Western aid. They even criticized how China had a business relationship with Africa and not just handing out aid like they did (Snap picture of a Westerner pouring a bowl of porridge handing it to a starving child with an over-extended belly here!). Now the West is talking business and trade with African countries. Biden even sent someone as important as the Vice President to fly to Africa into a Chinese built airport and drive on a Chinese built road past Chinese built infrastructure to meet with Africa leaders to tell them to choose the US and turn their back on the Chinese. Just being liked by them and showing nothing for it is so much better a reward than what the Chinese offered.

Like I said, if they confiscate Russia's foreign reserves, Russia will just nationalize Western assets in Russia. Like stock ownerships in Russian companies, Western companies assets in Russia, you name it. They can also kiss goodbye to the $140 billion USD of debt that the Russian government and private enterprises owe to the West. This will more than cover the amount in the reserves. Some people in the Duma also want to invalidate all Western patents and copyrights as well.

This is just a massive trap that Russia left for them hidden in plain sight.

It is a good development imho if nato steals Russian reserves. Russians need an excuse to steal NATO's reserves and invalidate US patents, if they're the first to do it, Russia and its allies will lose trust and prestige, whereas if NATO does it first, the opposite is true.

Having Russia troll NATO in this manner doesn't cost China anything, but opens up all sorts of opportunities. Russia has few or nothing that NATO desperately needs, while NATO can provide many assets that can be gamechangers for 3rd world countries and may be of analytical interest for China as well.

They have successfully made it so anti-Israeli government = anti-semitism and Jew hatred.

The reality is, you can criticize the gov't, and not hate the entire race. They ironically claim this distinction with CCP and ethnic Han Chinese, but when applied to Israel and Jewish people, that distinction disappears.
