"Coming collapse of China" is much slower than Gordon's aging speed. So I bet the San Francisco meeting is on.
It is about time. And it is also showing to the world that China is the same China in the last 2000 years. Chinese leaders are mature and pragmatic. World peace still is the most preferred state of the world affairs.
EU+UK will be in a more awkward position. When US and China are talking numbers and heads, the rest of the west can only such their sour thumbs. And they would be asking for it in the last few years.
Ukraine situation is more resembling the 38th parallel. If Israel does get into Gaza, I expect that Taiwan DPP will lost the coming general election. Otherwise, there will be too many downsides to US and Israel. For the moment, US is desperate in not agitating China toward any crisis over Taiwan.
