Iran kept getting into deal with the US and got screwed. US especially with the current politics won't hesitate to void any agreement in a heart beat. Although, releasing a few prisoners probably is not that a big deal for Iran. US on the other hand can't probably rekindle relationship with Iran and hoping Iran could boost oil production to offset Russian and Saudi's supplies cut.

Iran's president, Saudi crown prince speak for first time since diplomatic ties restored​

Oct 11 (Reuters) - Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman discussed the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on Wednesday, in the first telephone call between the two leaders since a China-brokered deal between Tehran and Riyadh to resume ties.

Raisi and the Saudi crown prince discussed the "need to end war crimes against Palestine," Iranian state media said.

The Saudi crown prince, for his part, "affirmed that the Kingdom is making all possible efforts in communicating with all international and regional parties to stop the ongoing escalation," Saudi state news agency SPA said.

He also reiterated Saudi Arabia's rejection of targeting civilians in any way, SPA added.

Maybe the west underestimated China's ability to strategize. There is a reason why the Art of war and Go are from China.

Did you misspell China? China pulled the Islamic world together, Hamas is just a chess piece doing their usual stuff. This is also evident by every (western) article writing about the middle east prefacing with the China-brokered deal between Tehran and Riyadh earlier this year.
