Ban all Japanese food due to radioactivity and because it may contain whale, which is illegal in China.

If they want to export to China, they must pay for Chinese inspectors to be present at all food export facilities, and their equipment, to ensure no radioactive contamination or presence of whale meat.

Given his coup attempt was rumored to be backed by CIA (either directly and/or indirectly through CIA-tied Russian oligarchs), and that the coup attempt was in large part to further the interests of those specific interest groups, all of the following possibilities makes sense to me:

1) Putin/one of his men/one of his backers took him out
2) CIA tied up a loose end
3) CIA-tied Russian oligarchs tied up a loose end
