Because the original rumours and info dump for 076 years ago was basically "this would be a CATOBAR LHD with EM catapults".

The current base of knowledge underlying "why is everyone assuming 076 will have emcats" is the same reason as why everyone "assumed" 003 would be a CATOBAR aircraft carrier.

There's a very substantial overhang on the left side with support underneath and what looks like a lift with little support underneath on the right side. Or am I seeing things which aren't there?

From this perspective it's hard to tell how much overhang there is along the length of the ship as the hull tapers to the front.

I also see the elevator on the (viewer's) right, there is no overhang on this side along the length of the hull, poor picture quality though, but can't tell about overhang on the (viewer's) left as it's out of sight.

The overhangs could just be weapons platforms for CIWS. .
