Structural strength ! You need heavier body to absorb the recoilling force of 125 mm gun and this tank is only 35 ton Plus the length of the barrel will hinder the operation of the small tank. This tank was meant for either jungle and swamp warfare in the south China or mountaineous area in Tibet highland having longer barrel will be a handicap because of narrow and inclined road , twist and turn of mountaneous road, etc

Hmmm... But the Italians are mounting 120mm gun on Centauro TD which have similar weight and the disadvantage of being wheeled... I guess the PLA just don't bother developing an all-new soft recoil 125mm gun. I can't really comment about the barrel length thing, but if the 125mm is longer than 105mm then I guess it does make sense.

Low recoil gun is gone out of fashion They were popular in 80's But they don't have the same punch like regular gun !
Beside why you need bigger gun the mechanized regiment come with foot soldier that carry ATGM which is much more lethal thean 125 mm gun Anyway not sure if the Indian has 125mm tank in ladakh? considering thin atmosphere their tank is not going to to work unless it is equipped with turbo charged engine or desing for high altitude operation like type 15

ZTQ15 is a tracked vehicle and has more armor, so it is natural to limit the weight occupied by firing system.

@Hendrik_2000 I was wondering if you have any thoughts on whether it would be worthwhile to pursue something like a Raven Gun? A low recoil gun concept... not quite a recoiless gun or a close breach gun but something in between as this video example.

What certain new armament are you referring to?
Well, when I say "certain", I really want to mean "certain". But I can tell u that it's a new 105 munition (actually not so "new", I estimate it might even be up to near a decade old...But it's still quite kept secret.) I think I've posted a photo of the thing before. Actual specs, effectiveness, structures and principles I still hesitate to tell, (hope u understand, no official media has ever even took photos of the thing, the thing's still an important tactical+strategic advantage I guess.) but I can tell u it's (obviously) available for the Type 15. :)

Probably because of the current circumstance, official media are releasing much more images of Type 15 than before.... (tactical threatening lol)
Turns out my guess is indeed the case... Today's <Military Report>, this was showcased... (lololol haha I'm laughing tears)
Too many nice shots, I'll just post the video link here:

Rough translation: Military Report invites you to focus tonight on:
Some brigade of the Tibet military region recently tested its new armaments, such as Type 15 tanks and HJ-10 ATGMs, multiple units engage in tactical cooperation and initiates strong assault to "enemy".
Airborne forces parachuting throughout the day, infiltrating "enemy" forces.

Well, I guess it's just telling a dear neighboring country to behave well. (lol)

Any info on how they're deployed?
I mean, organisational structure.
To tell u the truth bro, sadly I know virtually nothing about deployment. o_O

Also some very nice new images from Ministry of National Defense: (lol everyone's posting 15 images. Nice thing for me:D lol.)
