I completely agree with you that units of different regions are to be used. That is why I said "primarily".
I am more replying to the notion that ZTQ-15 is not versatile enough to be suitable for a potential Korean conflict. That is like saying ZTZ99A is not versatile enough to be suitable for a potential Taiwan/SCS/Western Pacific/Indian Ocean conflict. Not every equipment needs to be versatile enough for all scenarios. It just needs to be good enough for whatever it is designed to do. Korean peninsula is definitely not the primary concern for the design of ZTQ-15.

Well I think we have validation of the light MBT concept, here's the American take:
- 35 tons
- 4 man no autoloader
- 105mm main gun
- 1100HP
- front armour can withstand 30mm APDS
- 12 million USD each

Not sure calling it "light MBT" is right - it by definition isn't an MBT. "Light MBT" moniker only makes sense for countries which either center their fleet on that type for geographical reasons, or at least don't plan to ever use them on same battleflields.
By logic and duties, it's simply a medium* ** tank, designed to give some reasonable firepower to infantry brigade combat teams(and, more importantly, restored divisions), making them peer frontline-capable.
*i have problems calling 30t+ vehicles light, especially when it's really possible to make reasonable light tanks at half that weight.
**Furthermore, the mix of qualities possessed by both ZTQ-15 and MPF is really reminiscent of WW2 mediums: adequate gun, good mobility, reasonable chance to survive infantry AT.
That General Dynamics light tank is going to be a disaster. It is based on the chassis of the British Ajax. Just read about it.
The M8 AGS was a much better design, actually made from ground up as a real light tank. But it was designed in the 1990s so even if it won, good luck manufacturing it.
