What, at the airshow?

No indications, and to be honest I don't think many people would expect it to be, considering the importance of the programme. The most public "appearance" WS-15 has made so far is on a chart from a few years ago with a small picture of what appeared to be an engine core, and that was it.

We may probably only see WS-15 at an airshow style event once it has been deployed fairly widely among J-20s to begin with.

Actually, I think it's a poor question.

WS-15 is not the kind of subsystem that we would expect to see at an airshow before it has finished development. In fact, it is the kind of subsystem that we should expect them to deliberately keep under wraps for as long as possible, until it is ready to enter service at least.

And that's why I would be surprised if J-20 really does make an appearance at the airshow -- that would say quite a lot about the possible stage of development and maturity the overall programme is at, if they're willing to display it to public.

I had thought the topic of the DF-21D was the most inflammatory on this forum. ;)

The producer is allegedly Aero Engine Corp. of China, the newly-established powerplant conglomerate. These blades would be able to better withstand the heat and stress found in high-performance turbofans, paving the way for more powerful engines.

Moreover, I would wager that the J-20 would not be present at the airshow, and that the "20 series" refers to the Z-20 & Y-20. The Zhuhai Airshow is a trade show above all else, the sole purpose of which is to promote exportable products; hence, it would make no sense, business-wise, to have a purely-domestic piece of equipment at the exhibition.

Yeah, now I am thinking the J-20 will be a no show. I think it was Zhuhai 2006 (or 2008) when the PLAAF last minute pulled out both J-10 and FC-1 demos. CAC was pissed and had their own private show in Chengdu.

I really hope there will be more details on the WS-15.

I don't see why Z-20 would be shown either. So far it's been kept far from public, news about its development were non-existant save for few grainy images. (unlike the more public Z-15). The fact it seems to be heavily influenced by Blackhawk also seems to point it's not really a commercial/export orientated product.

While I agree there's little reason for J-20 to be shown, I'd say there's even less reason for Z-20 to be shown. Y-20 is a given, on the other hand. But it's also very much out in the public already.

My bet is Y-20 ONLY if the word 20 is part of the official words, which I doubt.

the reference of 20 is part of the post, not part of the attached pictures of the official media conference. Often fanboys (the source poster from cjdby) mix their own imaginations with authentic official words for purpose that I can't comprehend.

China aircraft maker to promote new generation planes at air show

The Aviation Industry Corp. of China (AVIC) will promote its new generation aircraft at China's upcoming aerospace trade show, the aircraft manufacturer said Thursday.

The company's heavy transport aircraft Y-20 and stealth fighter J-31, the major models in the new series, will be demonstrated at the 11th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, which opens on Nov. 1 in the southern port city of Zhuhai, Guangdong Province.

The new planes represent AVIC's advances toward the fourth generation of aircraft technology, the company said.

In June, the first two Y-20 planes were delivered to the People's Liberation Army Air Force after nearly a decade of design, manufacture and test flights. With a maximum takeoff weight of around 200 tonnes, the large freighter plane is ideal for transporting cargo and people over long distances in diverse weather conditions.

As a major aerospace and defence company in China, AVIC has developed a series of advanced fighters, helicopters and airborne early warning aircraft, and exported many models.

The six-day air show has been held in Zhuhai every two years since 1996
