Cool video. Looks like he was able to get right out with the August 1st team. Agree that J-10B TVC footage is excellent: no annoying sun and you and you can see the high AOA prior to falling leaf.

It is not surprising they have a lot of redundant missile systems since those are, in some areas, significantly behind the West, so they have a lot of demand for those systems. Compare this with NATO where there are only a couple of standard bomb types with add on laser or GPS kits like the Paveway and the JDAM.

One wonders if investment going into all these companies to develop aircraft (especially UAVs) and other systems reflects what we see in infrastructure, where massive amounts can be poured into projects that are not always of the highest merit. Beijing wants to move to a consumer led economy, but for the time being it's investment led. Apologies if this post is getting too far away from military kit, but all the money to develop this great stuff has to come from somewhere. The question is how many of these cool UAVs and weapons will actually be obtained by the military. I'd expect the military would value a degree of harmonization with systems.
