in any case, I also wouldn't take sinosoldier's timetable of the airshow's events in post #87 as gospel. Just because they're not listing J-20 or FC-31 doesn't mean they won't make an appearance in some form. After all I think the last page's posts all indicate that J-20 will be at Zhuhai, and a video from yesterday taken supposedly in Guangdong shows what looks like three J-20s arriving

We'll have to find out at Zhuhai show. I highly doubt it can be launched without catapults, and to launch it off a ship without catapults, it would need rocket-assisted takeoff.

I doubt a helicopter could launch it. no chance for an LPD

Could be seeing either TVC-ed WS-10 or WS-15 at Zhuhai, which would imply J-turns and Westerners shitting bricks. Cobra isn't that interesting, a Su-30 can do it, and it supposedly has minimal actual combat use.

Well, try not to be too disappointed, hopefully there will be surprise additions..... I was so disgusted when I drove 4 hours one way to the Terra Haute Airshow, only to be tied up on the interstate exit ramp for nearly two hours... so I did not get onto the airfield as the big parking lot was flooded, but I had a great seat about 200 yds from the departure end of the runway, so, things do sometimes work out..

I would have loved to have seen all the display aircraft, crawled about, and been at "Air Show Center", but, I would have missed the full afterburner departure of the F-22, F-86, F-100, and F-5 now that was awesome..

I hadn't seen the F-86 or F-100 before, I was dismayed by their lazy displays and lack of hard pulling, it served a vivid reminder that the F-15, F-16, and to an even greater extent the F-22 and F-35 are otherworldly compared to the past!

like you, I will be very disappointed if we don't see the J-20 and FC-31!

No, I don't think anyone has suggested that could be a reasonable expectation. As far as we know only one J-20 has been equipped with a TVCed WS-10 and that was only on one engine out of two, and obviously there is no indication that WS-15 has even started flight testing on J-20 yet.

Cobra doesn't have much combat use but it's meant to partly demonstrate an aircraft's high AoA and post-stall maneuvering. Doing so would probably cause a few of the "J-20 can't dogfight" individuals to reflect a little bit.

It would be an embarrassment for any fighter to crash in a cobra maneuver ... let alone a J-20. As long as we get a more extreme performance than Zhuhai 2016, I am happy.

There is a possibility that the TVC J-10B testbed might make an appearance soon.
