@洋务先驱张之洞 on Weibo said that this particular Z-20 variant (for the PLAAF) has a foldable tail section, which enables easier transportation on airlifters (Y-9 and Y-20). This feature can also be found on the UH-60.

The following CG models made by Big Bun CG on Weibo illustrated how such mechanisms work for this Z-20 variant.

The landing gear is located at the end of the tail, so I don't think this one has foldable tail

I think the Z-20J used for transport by the navy can already be folded into a compact form. If a Z-20 variant needs to be squeezed inside a Y-20, it will probably be that one.

This is a PLANAF Z-20F ASW variant. Foldable tail and main rotors for shipborne operations.
