today, guancha guys had a good cha Hua hui episode on Z-10. Talked about China's cooperation with Russia on project 941. about the weight issues they had in trying to design on Z-10. 3850kg is the MTOW of Dauphin and Z-10's MTOW had to be 5250kg due to WZ-9 limitations.

Interesting enough that they said WZ-9 project started in 1991 but then later they said it entered some design phase in 1993 & completed review by 1998 or something like that. Basically saying it was a very successful project considering this was a 0 to 1 step. And that was the reason they got Z-10 w/ domestic engine into service at such an early point despite being significantly under powered vs what they actually wanted originally in Z-10 (which would have pushed MTOW to over 6t).

I don't think anything too new in there (as in stuff we haven't heard elsewhere), but it was good to put it all together in the same place.

Is this real?? Looks like the AI-enhanced one of the original blurry one from the video clip ... if indeed legit, then the clearest image of a Pakistan Army Aviation Z-10ME with the MMR.

Unless there has been a further development of the Z-10ME of which I'm not aware, the top pic above shows an incorrect engine intake. (It resembles the intake on PLA Z-10s.) For comparison, note the intake in the following pic (previously posted here at SDF by @by78) showing the Z-10ME at Singapore Airshow 2024.
