For civilian planes how can you not include the iconic 747?


For modern airlines I like boeing 777 and airbus 330. They both looks very similar and sleek.

both are nice aircraft
i like them but they are not my favorites
i prefer these two


and this Giant is so cool, i like it more than the B-747

Ah yes.. fond memories of the Tomcat.Tomcats while a beautiful aircraft to observe was in my and many others opinion a maintenance nightmare. Requiring more maintenance hours per flight hour than any other Naval aircraft...

My favorite civilian aircraft is:

The Beech Starship (a good Burt Rutan design)

Too bad this little gem never went anywhere. Would have made a great CAS aircraft. Does anyone know what the scale reduction was in the prototype?

Yep, I loved the 29, until the Flanker came along, and now the T-50 is without doubt the prettiest of the 5th gen wanta be's,,,, more put together in the mass centralization than either the F-35 or J-20, and the OVT guarantees a very quick pitch transition, no doubt the Lev-Cons contribute to that as well.

So if it was just a WVR free for all??? the T-50 would do right well and possibly come out on top, but then an SU-35 would do all right as well.

Now having said all that, if I had to choose an airplane to fight in, it still has to be the Raptor on every level.

But from an iconic point of view the F-14 will always be a winner, that very sexy head on profile with the wings swept aft, is almost as organic as the Raptor, and of all the diecast models I own, the F-14 with its wings swept aft, is a very fine flyer as it drifts to the bottom of the tank.

I took the gear off of most of my diecasts, as I much prefer the retracted gear look, and that small metal F-14, when dropped into the tank, lowers the nose and glides smoothly to the bottom. Nothing else really does that, LOL.
