Direct and cheap energy from Russia paid in local currency.

more LNG tanks. I mean I don't think LNG is a long term solution, but it's a nice medium term solution to transition off coal.

the usual pro-Russian narrative from Duran. That's not the interesting thing about this. But they raised an interesting point. Turkey is now the energy hub of EU. Remember, it was Germany due to Nord Stream 1? Now, Turkey will be collecting gas from Russia, Qatar, Azerbaijan and maybe even Iran in the future. Good for Turkey. Bad for Germany.

The main takeaway from the episode is the US is squeezing its vassals hard and will squeeze them even harder in the future.

Yes, but there likely will come a point when everyone decides to abandon the US.

It's all laid out very analytically below. I would say this should be recommended reading for everyone in the forum
It's basically the past 500 years of history, with reference to the transitions between the Dutch Empire to the British Empire to the American Empire to the Chinese Empire.

I don't think Saudi Arabia is ready to abandon the Petrodollar yet. America still has a lot of leverage over them. I give it a 30% chance something consequential actually happens

big long term LNG deal with Qatar. Not sure how this works out with their zero emission pledges, but certainly establishes energy security for a while.
I like the photo of Qatar unfriending Japan and friending China. I do think the 2050 0-emission pledge from Europe and Japan is a big reason they have partnered up with China here.
