seems pretty straight forward to me. She escaped from the crazy inlaws but they caught her and brought her back to Afghanistan. She escaped again the 2nd time but got caught again except this time she convinced them to let her go. she reunited with her hubby in India (calcutta) not Afghanistan.

This all happened in the 90's. No mention on when they moved back to Afghanistan but my guess is probably much much later.
From what I have read, she recently moved back to be with her husband in Afghanistan. So, sometime after they went to India, he moved back and she followed. They should never have had he return to Afghanistan again.

I guess they thought enough years had passed...but as long as she was alive, there would never be enough years pass for the likes of the Taliban.

Yahoo News said:
WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama's top aide on Sunday pressed the case for "targeted, limited consequential action" to degrade the capabilities of Syrian President Bashar Assad to carry out chemical weapons attacks as the White House mounted a major push to win support from a divided Congress and skeptical American public for a military strike.

White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough asserted that a "common-sense test" dictates that the Syrian government is responsible for a chemical weapons attack that Obama says demands a U.S. response. But he said the Obama administration lacks "irrefutable, beyond-a-reasonable-doubt evidence" that lawmakers who will start voting on military action this week are seeking.

"This is not a court of law. And intelligence does not work that way," White House chief of staff Denis McDonough said, part of a five-network public relations blitz Sunday to build support for limited strikes against Assad.

Oh my gosh. Are you kidding me? What unmitigated Bravo Sierra!

A Thai Airways plane skidded off the runway in Bangkok after the landing gear malfunctioned, slightly injuring more than a dozen passengers as they evacuated the jet, the airline said Monday.

The incident late on Sunday at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport involved an Airbus 330-300 carrying 288 passengers and 14 crew members on a flight from Guangzhou in southern China, the carrier said.

The plane was seen resting on grass on Monday morning next to the runway with its evacuation slides still deployed and the Thai Airways name and logo hastily covered up.

"Sparks were noticed from the vicinity of the right landing gear near the engine; the matter is under investigation," the airline said in a statement.

"The captain took control of the aircraft until it came to a complete stop and passengers were evacuated from the aircraft emergency exits. The operation was conducted by the captain and cabin crew strictly according to emergency procedures."

About 14 people were slightly injured when they escaped down the emergency slides, Thai Airways president Sorajak Kasemsuvan told local television.

"They were sent to hospital but most of them received treatment and were discharged," he added.

The carrier said it would take about 24 hours to remove the aircraft, which could cause flight delays.

The incident comes just over a week after dozens of passengers and crew were injured when a Thai Airways A380 superjumbo hit severe turbulence during a flight from Bangkok to Hong Kong.

Huffington Post said:
MOSCOW -- The Russian foreign minister says Moscow will push Syria to place its chemical weapons under international control.

Sergey Lavrov said Monday that if such a move would help avert a possible U.S. strike on Syria, Russia will start work "immediately" to persuade Syria to relinquish control over its chemical arsenals.

Lavrov told reporters that Russia would urge Syria to concentrate its chemical weapons in certain areas under international oversight and then dismantle them.

Russian and Syrian foreign ministers on Monday strongly pushed for the return of United Nations inspectors to Syria to continue their probe into the use of chemical weapons and again warned Washington against launching an attack.

The statement comes as President Barack Obama, who blames President Bashar Assad for killing hundreds of his own people in a chemical attack last month, is pressing for a limited strike against the Syrian government. It has denied launching the attack, insisting along with its ally Russia that the attack was launched by the rebels to drag the U.S. into war.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said after Monday's talks with his Syrian counterpart Walid al-Moallem that U.N. chemical weapons experts should complete their probe and present their findings to the U.N. Security Council.

indicate that the Russian foreign Minister has now informed Syria of this request.

RT News said:
Russia has offered Syria to put its chemical weapons under international control, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

“We have passed our offer to Al-Muallem [Syrian Foreign Minister] and hope to receive [a] fast and positive answer,” Sergey Lavrov said.

US Naval Institute said:
An Islamist terror group has taken responsibility for a Saturday rocket propelled grenade (RPG) attack on a merchant ship transiting the Suez Canal, USNI News has learned.

A video posted on YouTube Wednesday — alleged to have been issued by the group Al-Furqan along with a letter of responsibility — show two men with rocket propelled grenades fire into the side of a cargo ship bearing the markings of the Chinese merchant shipper Cosco.

Previous press reports said the ship in the Saturday incident was the Panamanian flagged cargo ship, Cosco Asia.

The Wednesday letter — according to a rough translation provided to USNI News by industry sources — said the group supported the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, called for an end to democracy and promised future more severe action against ships in the Suez canal.

I had not seen any mention of this here on SD.

I see...well good luck with that. I don't see the Philippine National government are willing to give in to their demands any time soon, nor an independent state of their own. There's just no way.

ZAMBOANGA, Philippines (AFP) – Philippine President Benigno Aquino Friday visited the southern city of Zamboanga where government troops are battling followers of a Muslim rebel leader opposed to peace talks. The presidential palace declined to give details of Aquino's trip, which came on the fifth day of an incursion by up to 180 Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) guerrillas concentrated in six coastal areas.

"We will secure him wherever he wants to go," military spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Ramon Zagala told AFP, downplaying potential threats to Aquino's safety."He has arrived there. He flew to Zamboanga," Aquino spokeswoman Abigail Valte said in a statement.Aquino was meeting with city officials, an AFP reporter said. There was no immediate word on whether he would visit the conflict areas. At least 15 people have been killed, and nearly 200 Zamboanga residents are being used as human shields by the gunmen, who have also set parts of the six coastal districts on fire.
