Persian Gulf (Dec. 3, 2005) – An SH-60 Seahawk helicopter prepares to land aboard the Spanish Navy frigate Alvaro de Bazan (F101) while underway in the Persian Gulf. Alvaro de Bazan is part of Carrier Strike Group Two (CSG-2), currently conducting maritime security operations.

I knew nothing of this type technology until I read about it on navy.mil

Bayview, Idaho (Nov. 30, 2005) - The Advanced Electric Ship Demonstrator (AESD), Sea Jet, undergoes sea trials on Lake Pend Oreille at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division, Acoustic Research Detachment in Bayview, Idaho. Funded by the Office of Naval Research (ONR), Sea Jet is a 133-foot vessel testing an underwater discharge water jet from Rolls-Royce Naval Marine, Inc., called AWJ-21, a propulsion concept with the goals of providing increased propulsive efficiency, reduced acoustic signature, and improved maneuverability over previous Destroyer Class combatants.

E-2C "Hawkeye's" from the "Liberty Bells" Of VAW-115 assigned to CVW-5 onboard the foward deployed aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 prepare for launch on CV-63. VAW-115 has been based at NAF Atsugi Japan with CVW-5 continously since 11 October 1973.
