Here's one for you. This represents a great example of how other nations take older mainline technology, in this case Taiwan taking older US Knox class frigates, and keep them operating and modernizing them to meet their needs.
Here (and this is a pic found and posted by adeptitus) you have the old Knox class FFG, now the ROCN Chi Yang class (of which they have eight). Notice the Phalanx aft and the ten box launchers for standard missiles amidhsips. This, in conjunction with significant electronics upgrades, have updated these vessels AAW capabilities significantly.
It's good to see the old Knox class well taken care of in allies hands.
