No offense to any North Koreans SD reader out there, but the DPRK naval uniform looks like hotel concierge or bell boys.

Check out the uncooked chickens on display. Can you say SALMONELLA?:p FYI..They're in some kind of kitchen or dinning hall of a building NOT a submarine.

As we can see their submarines are not as advance or updated.

.

That's a 50 something yr old Romeo class diesel electric sub. Noisy as heck and slow. It will have no chance against any ship fitted with modern ASW suite and sub hunters. In some ways I would feel terrible for the north korean sailors ordered to go on any mission against any half way decent navies of the world because that Romeo will surely be their tomb.

Well, one of their even older antiquated subs, and less capable than the Romeo, apparently sank a relatively modern South Korean ASW patrol boat in 2010. So, a sub, even an old one, if it sits quietly in wait and catches a vessel off guard, can do some real damage.

Amazingly, in November 2013, two North Korean Patrol boats, one a 400 ton Hainan Class sub chaser, and annother 200 ton patrol boat both "mysteriously" sank off of one of North Korea's port cities. It coincidentally occured a day or two after the completion of US-SKOR naval exerciese near there involving some of South Koreas very modern and capable Diesel electric subs.

Go figure.

Me thinks some scales were balanced.

As it is...I think those poor devils have a lot more to fear from their own tyrant...particularly the officers hosting the guy...than almost anything else. One mis-step around that animal and you could literally end up being dog food.

Operating this many Mig-29Ks off of the deck, certainly gave the various deck hands/personnel and the pilots a lot to cheer about.

OUTSTANDING JOB by the Royal Air Force!!

RAF Typhoons were yesterday (Tuesday 17 June) scrambled to intercept multiple Russian aircraft as part of NATO’s ongoing mission to police Baltic airspace. The Typhoon aircraft, from 3 (Fighter) Squadron, were launched after four separate groups of aircraft were detected by NATO air defences in international airspace near to the Baltic States.

Once airborne, the British jets identified the aircraft as a Russian Tupolev Tu22 ‘Backfire’ bomber, four Sukhoi Su27 ‘Flanker’ fighters, one Beriev A50 ‘Mainstay’ early warning aircraft and an Antonov An26 ‘Curl’ transport aircraft who appeared to be carrying out a variety of routine training. The Russian aircraft were monitored by the RAF Typhoons and escorted on their way.

Still the Romeo class can't go very far..could it? I wonder how much updates did the DPRK did to it?
