Two names that would eventually not lose anything by moving forward with the nomination for the election: Harris and Obama's wife
Obviously, it would have to be Harris as she is already fully integrated and engaged in the campaign. But Obama's wife would be a strong candidate to compete with Trump.
Here are a list of people who could probably win:
Oprah Winfrey
Jay Z
Beyonce
Snoop Dogg
Rihanna
Cardi B
Nikki Minaj
Will Smith
Dave Chapelle
Michelle Obama
Maybe even LeVar Burton if he played up the Reading Rainbow nostalgia
I think he was putting out feelers out late 2023 in case Biden dropped out early, but now is too late to try to market himself to the rest of the US. He is either just known in California or sorta negatively in the rest of the US for San Francisco/Oakland decay (which i don't think it is his fault)
Wait till you see Kamala Harris's gaffes during speeches start to pop up over the next few days. You'd ask, who was worst..Biden or Harris. Trump will run circles around her in any debate.
If DNC goes with Harris, good chance Trump wins unless a transformed, levelled up Harris shows up in next few hours.
But DNc probably need to go with Harris, could be legalities with all the funds that's been raised for Biden/Harris campaign. VP choice could be an important factor. If I was an American, I'd love to vote for Bernie.

I mean they can try and turn the age thing back on him, as he's the geriatric now. If you compare 2020 trump to 2024 trump you can tell he's starting to slow down too.
