There's a story posted on Yahoo where the wives of the Japanese far right held a protest in Tokyo against China and South Korea denouncing the lie of comfort women during WWII. There seems to be some PR orchestration by the right wing of Japan when you have what looks like a campaign against the notion that the Japanese soldiers raped women. I wonder if also has to do with the story where Japan bans child pornography now except in manga and animation.

The right wing of Japan are losing the PR battle each and everyday as they keep on putting their foot into their mouths deeper with each new comment and denial in history. I hope they will continue that way thew will implode.

What the heck, indeed.

Ronaldo in transvestite scandal

Brazilian football star Ronaldo has been caught up in a sex scandal with three cross-dressing prostitutes.

Having dropped off his girlfriend at her house in Rio de Janeiro on Monday night, the 2002 World Cup winner picked up three prostitutes.

When they all booked into a motel, the AC Milan striker discovered that the prostitutes were in fact men.

According to Rio police, he alleges that the transvestites then tried to extort money from him.

Local press reports quoted one of the prostitutes, Andreia Albertine - otherwise known as Andre Luiz Ribeiro Albertino - as saying that Ronaldo had threatened to hit him, on discovering that he was a transvestite.

'Extortion'

Ronaldo "reported that Andreia had taken his car documents and demanded $30,000 [£15,000]", said Rio police superintendent Carlos Augusto Nogueira.

He added: "Ronaldo admits the facts. He said he just wanted to amuse himself, that's not a crime. To pay to have sexual relations isn't illegal.

"There's a strong chance that Ronaldo has been the victim of extortion."

When the footballer refused to pay the prostitute, the latter claimed that Ronaldo had taken drugs, and had threatened to hurt the three transvestites.

Under Brazilian law, while pimping sex workers and running establishments where sex is sold are illegal, prostitution itself is not.

In a statement Ronaldo is reported to have denied ever using drugs, and reiterated that he was a victim of extortion.

The three-time Fifa world footballer of the year is in Brazil recovering from knee surgery.

He told police he was having some psychological problems linked to his injury.

The fact that a lot of that kind of anime and manga either has protaganist that are sex offenders and portray rape as not a big deal and victims of sexual violence just walk it off like if it was just a cramp.

Another what the heck. These days people with schizophrenia, dissociative disorder, depression and bipolar disorder can join the PLA.

The PLA has also for the first time removed mental illnesses from a list that would bar candidates from military service, including schizophrenia, dissociative disorder, depression and bipolar disorder.

This is not good. I worked with a man with paranoid/social schizophrenia & severe anxiety. His behavior was erratic at times and he trusted no one. You cannot have that type of person in any military. And yes he was medicated..but still suffered mental issues.

Why is this in what the heck news? This should be a big deal. I remember when PLA enlistment was sought after due to the work placement afterwards. Is enlistment so unattractive now that they have to scrap the bottom of the barrel?

It's playing with fire to recruit someone who is still on medication rather than has made a full recovery. On medication means he is still working on his recovery and there is no way to monitor that he is taking the medicines. When he shifts to his dangerous personality, he can inflict harm on himself or others. To recall, Joshua Marks, the 7' 2" "MasterChef USA 3" runner-up committed suicide despite appearing very normal and affable during the show, in his battle with bipolar disorder.

Mental illness, like all illnesses, comes in a spectrum ranging from the very mild to the crippling. Also like other illnesses, I believe people can overcome and recover from some mental illnesses, such as depression.

As such, I think it would not be a massive deal to allow at least a case by case review of the eligibility of people who have suffer some mild and limited form of mental illness in the past, but who have recovered.

PTSD is a form of mental illness also, if militarise started to discharge people en mass for having suffered it and making anyone who has suffered from it ineligible to ever serve in the military again, then you would quickly run out of people who are allowed to continue to serve or return to duty.

I think this is more a case of bad reporting rather than the PLA deciding to start setting up recruitment stations in mental asylums.

Allowing for some mental illness history rather than having a blanket ban will also help to remove some pressure from sufferers who might be serving in the military to get professional help and find an outlet and hopefully a cure or at least relief from their suffering rather be forced to hide it and bottle it all up inside until they cannot take it any more.

When that happens, the sufferers often loose control with tragic consequences for themselves and/or those around them or just people in the wrong place at the wrong time.

To be honest, if this move is as I expect, then it would represent a surprisingly modern and liberal attitude by the PLA towards what is still a taboo subject that usually carry a lot of stigma to sufferers, in even the most liberal of countries.

Something in the news lately getting a lot of attention. This is one of those "sticky posts" of taboo politically correct subjects that no one dares to question but I will. Things like this story sort of alarms me where American women who think of themselves so highly that they have a right to force their way of thinking onto women everywhere else. They got it so right that any who questions them has to be evil. That kind of arrogance is why no one directly calls them out on this kind of stuff and why stupidity reigns. Contrary to the propaganda that this is the nurturing nature of women who think they can change these bad boys, including serial murderers, into good boys, the whole idea that women are attracted to bad boys is simply because they stand out. They're not the boring copies the rest of men are. That's what attracts them. Criminals happen to have the characteristics these women want in men. They're not conformists. They're not a lemming just following societal norms. They go to the extreme to get what they want. And if these men do it for the women who are attracted to them, it makes it all the more special. They're not attracted to all criminals in the system. They're only attracted to the good-looking ones. So only good-looking criminals get blessed with their adoration. The ugly don't get a chance. So it's not really so altruistic in nature, is it? More like animalistic attraction. Because of political correctness, no one dares to question what's really going on. They just skirt around it like this guy being in the news now. The irony is why no one dares to question is to protect fragile minds that can't handle the truth. If your mind can handle the truth, how in the world do you think you have right to assert your position on anything or anyone?

I know a woman who use to have a shop in an open market. There was another woman in the market who owned a shop too who didn't like my friend. It had nothing to do with business competition because their stores didn't sell anything alike. It was typical women in competition with other women in general stuff. So one day one of my friend's customers became her stalker and it was to the point she had to file a restraining order with the police. Because it was a community of independently owned stores under one roof and incidents like this aren't private, the stalker was the talk of the market. That was basically the end of the stalker harassing my friend. But later through the grapevine, news came around that the woman who didn't like my friend was seen flirting with the stalker on numerous occasions. The woman was envious my friend got a stalker and wanted one for herself too. When bad values go unchecked, they become normal values.
