Get a real cheap small one, sit up real close and it will just be like looking at a big TV:D

On another matter Dont those Bulbs on the projecters cost heaps, and they only last a certain amount of hours, thats why my wife borrows the school one indefinitely as they all have one each, and they hardly get used. I actually think its a Epson data projecter.

for me it's actually less so about money and more so about logistics difficulty in moving every 4 months due to coop work terms.

i do have a 25" flatscreen that i won at a supermarket's lottery game sitting at home  (and you thought those things were scams ;))

Watching HDTV once a few while is not that bad, but I don't see the need for it. I mean do I really care about the actor's pores on his face? I like the projector because it feels like a theater.

That's what we said before we got our HDTV. Now, I can't stand tubes.

I do! I do! :nono: Nowadays, pores on faces are nothing. you want to look for nose hair :D

Our next goal is a > 60" 1080P LCD. We almost got one last x'mas when Costco had a "bundle deal" where they had a combo of two Panasonic LCD's, a 52' and a 36", together for ~$1900. My wife who didn't care too much about big TVs before we got our first HDTV actually thought 52' was too small ;). So we ended up letting it pass.

Hey hey Chinese doesn't equal tech nerds,

I was actually talking about all people on this forum. I figure most people who like weapons and stuff also like gadgets, such as home theaters.

for that I am thinking about getting them a 5.1 speaker set, but I don't know if I will have the money for an actually stereo system.

Just get a home-theater-in-a-box. It's cheap and works perfectly. you can get a decent one with about $200-250.

That first statement made my day.

I'm looking at buying a 32" LCD TV to replace the old fatty TVs. So far I've only looked at Sony and Panasonic. Price really isn't an issue. Any good suggestions?

We have a 32" Tv. We bought it from HSN (Home Shopping Network) on cable TV. It was only $600 bucks. It has 1080p resolution. It came with HDMI cable and the shipping was free. Its name brand is "Digtal Lifestyles". I'm not sure they have it anymore. We bought it in Feb. 2008.

It is an excellent product.
