What is your entertainment system?

As we are all tech nerds, we all love our entertainment systems/home theaters. what kind of systems do you have at home?

I have a Hitachi - 51" Rear Projection HDTV, SWX20B51
Sony home-theater-in-a-box 5.1 stereo system
Philips DVP3960 HDMI DVD player

As you can see, my systems need an upgrade badly. However, I'm having a hard time giving it up since I spent so much time tweaking the system, especially the TV (literally taking it apart and adjusting the mechanical and electrical focus).

Hey hey Chinese doesn't equal tech nerds, but sadly evidence proves otherwise lol. But yea since me and my dad finished the basement last summer so far I have got them a lcd project epson I think. For the sound system I am not sure if I want to get them PC speakers or a real stereo system. I just got them a new PC too so they can watch their pplive and what not, for that I am thinking about getting them a 5.1 speaker set, but I don't know if I will have the money for an actually stereo system. For the media players, the computer has a blueray player built in, so if they need to watch a blueray (cd or dvd or whatever they call blueray disks) they can just plug the projector to the pc.
I believe a projector is a good buy because my parents are simple folks, they don't need the super HD TVs, and apparently getting them a projector brings them back to their younger days back in China. Also you can change the size of the "screen" of the projector, the projector at home is about 100ft max.

But for my apartment, my entertainment system is my 2 year old PC that I built and my 2.1 speakers. lol

WE use a projection system as well. My wife brings the projecter from work whenever we want to use it and at the moment it just plays the DVDs through the computer system in the rumpus room.

Dunno about the technicalities but the rumpus rooms about 26feet by 16Feet, and by projecting it on to the wall, we get a pretty decent size picture.Weve had it about 2/3rds the size of one of the walls.

Also he my son downloads FRINGE and he directs through his PS3 so we can watch it on the big screen TV.

I guess you wont get as good a picture with a wall projection system (can you?) but I like the massive size.

Now all I need is my nerdy son to make one of those cold beer chucker outers, like the one that I saw on Youtube made by some American engineering student, and life will be sweet.

My other entertainment system is decades old, but its never broken down or needed repairing.:D

Watching HDTV once a few while is not that bad, but I don't see the need for it. I mean do I really care about the actor's pores on his face? I like the projector because it feels like a theater.

Get a real cheap small one, sit up real close and it will just be like looking at a big TV:D

On another matter Dont those Bulbs on the projecters cost heaps, and they only last a certain amount of hours, thats why my wife borrows the school one indefinitely as they all have one each, and they hardly get used. I actually think its a Epson data projecter.

We have a 32" HDTV in the living room along with a Sony stereo system. The clarity on the HDTV is amazing when tuned to digital channels..Oh yea we have digital cable TV hooked up to it.:D

The stereo is Ok by me. I never use it where as I don't listen to music on purpose.

In our bedroom we have a 20" TV hooked up to digital cable.

Of course my main source of entertainment is the computer. It has a 22' LG monitor hooked up to a Compaq Presario SR5450F. Which is about a year and a half old. It has 2 GB of RAM and a 500GB memory. Oh yea it has some very nice speakers but I always have them off because those little sounds it makes annoy the crap out of me and plus I never listen to music on purpose.

Just a mere cheap China made 20" HDTV for me, hooked to game consoles, which also acts as my players.
