At least the Ford class is kinda up to speed now. The issue with this cancellation is that, unlike the Zumwalts, there is no "Burke" to fall back into unless they keep pumping half armed LCS.Who's next? Surely not the Ford-class?

With just 74 Arleigh Burkes (among them 30 are over 25 years old), I find it extremely hard to believe that USN can enforce a blockade in the Malacca strait, escorting supply lines, anti-sub, mine sweep, and fighting the PLAN at the same time, in a Taiwan contingency. Hell, the last item alone has already been far fetched.
DDG(X), USN isn't even sure what it is yet, and it will definitely cost significantly more than Burke III.Who's next? Surely not the Ford-class?
