I think it is related to the whole "Denmark Russian drone" incident. As well as supposed RuAF intrusions in NATO airspace. Personally, I don't think much is going to come off from it. Mostly, just discussing potential risk/reward and methods for countering this.

Nuh uh, that's not how the military works.

You don't have a discussion with every flag rank in order to reach a consensus on a decision. That's what your Joint Chief of Staffs are for.

Calling in every general rank officer from every service brancj of your vast military to be in-person on 1 week notice is pretty serious stuff - consider that some postings, eg CO of a CSG may require up to 72 hours to get to CONUS. Then again, it could be simply Trump-Hesgethian levels of narcissism to do things this way simply because THEY CAN. It's really f-ing crazy to call in every single general rank considering that a lot of them are combat commands and are based in all kinds of far flung outpost of the US empire.

It'll be more of an announcement rather than a mass confab.

Yes, this to me sounds like it will be some sort of loyalty pledge. Otherwise it doesn't make much sense. I wouldn't be surprised if they are asked to swear loyalty to Donald Trump. You could have some sort of public humiliation as well for the members who are not viewed as sufficiently loyal to the President.

Trump had that DM leak in which he demanded Attorney General Pam Bondi start arresting his perceived enemies. Shortly afterwards we find out former FBI director James Comey is being indicted. Others are likely to follow suit.

If it is something to do with Russia and NATO, this seems like a strange way to go about addressing that.
