Spare the Americans, their shipbuilding industry simply can't support more new ships. My personal take on weapons platforms is to get rid of the old stuff as soon as it can be replaced or else they will be a drag on new procurement. I think that it's way healthier for the USN to dump all of its Ticos (and older Burkes for that matter) and use the savings on new stuff. There is one major caveat though: the USN is no longer capable of designing new ships. The last few surface vessels have been Ford, LCS, Zumwalt, and Constellation, and all of these have been junk for the most part. At this rate, it might be the 2050s before the USN has a suitable replacement for the Ticos.
Just to ask, what kind of capabilities does the Zumwalt have that really stands out amongst other combat ships compared to China since I used to hear about how this ships was supposed to be the real deal yet some images lately have shown rust occurring on the platingsIn theory the Zumwalt hull could replace the Tico hull. If they fix the propulsion anyway.
