Looks like the US finally ripped off ASBMs, lol. Granted, seems to be a crappier (SRBM) version than Chinese ones. But still probably one of the best endorsements of this class of weapon so far.
So the ASBM arms race begins? Any hints yet as to whether they will pursue this at scale? And how about Chinese countermeasures?

I can tell you who won't bother making such a weapon. The Russians. When you have 1000km range Mach 9 Zircon available why bother with this.

This US system will be kind of lame against Chinese systems. Because the Chinese have several different sizes of ballistic missiles. Not just one or two.

A new X-plane is expected to fly at the end of year. The XRQ-73 Shepard is a flying win UAV of a relatively small size at around 1,250 lbs. The aircraft is manufactured by Northrop Grumman and is designed to test "hybrid electric architecture" which came from an earlier project called, "Great Horned Owl (GHO)"

Somewhat tying into talks about missile test, a representative from XBow recently gave some statements on their expanding involvement in the solid rocket motor production supply chain for the DoD.

The full twitter thread has the representative mentioning that they are involved in, "SM-6 Mk72 and Mk104 motor developments" along with, "pursuing everything from small tactical motors to motors well above 34 inch diameter."

How the turntables...

Projection all along: Defence contractors are dependents on chips and other supplies from hundreds of chinese companies.

'Want to spend billions on chinese components to builds weapon? Ntional security
Want to buy an affordable chinese EV? Again, national security'

Reading the source article, one of the author's advice is stockpiling years worth of production.

Now US has the burden of proving ASBM kill-chain exists and works. It is funny to see that now US has to defend what China did was doable and effective which they firmly rejected not long ago.
