Seems like a departure from the previous designs released... The shape makes me think of a supersonic stealth bomber as opposed to a tanker. Something about the nose section and wing sweep just looks more bomber like to my eye, but that is just the visual appearance. The cockpit looks like it might have room for two crew, and I wonder if you would have room for the boom operator?

It seems like LM’s take is more of a dedicated VLO Tanker. Vs the previous concepts which pulled MRTT duty as a VLO SOF transport. In particular Boeing’s model with modifications is also the form of a vertical takeoff and landing platform for a SOF penetration vehicle.Seems like a departure from the previous designs released... Apparently BlueHalo's (not familiar with this company) 20kw palletized laser weapon system has been deployed overseas and used in combat.
There is quite a large number of laser weapon systems in development right now. You have palletized designs like this, various ship based designs ranging from 50 - 150kw+, Stryker based DE-M-ShORAD at 50kw and the truck based 300kw along with likely other systems in development. Seems like this technology is inching closer to wide spread deployment.
